Interventions

This page offers a window into a series of interventions in which the artist works with the natural world to create staged tableaus that animate presence by way of absence.

Here painted canvas is draped over trees, falling into folds that suggest clothing on a body. Branches become shoulders; trunks become figures. The canvas dresses the tree, while the tree gives the painting a body.

Moving between painting, sculpture, photography and installation, the work explores how a surface becomes garment, and how a familiar landscape can take on a human presence.
